Description
This a Rare Piece of WWII USN Surplus Cotton Poplin Cloth the kind that was used in the M 421 Summer flight jacket and I believe Also the Flight Suits: M 426 and AN-S-31.  This piece is huge  6.3 yds Long or 19 feet long by 45" Wide. the Total weight of this entire cloth is 3 lbs. That is almost 8 ounces per yard.   I figure that this is WWII because I Cut a piece off of it a while back to repair an M421 Diamond Elbow Patch and the end ( not the serge ends) of it had Numbers written in Cursive fountain Ink pen that had faded.  there is still a small ink printing of about 4 numbers or letters in one corner but is not legible. But other than that and the way the Serge edges looks on each side lead me to believe that this is a NOS piece of US military Poplin.  The weave Matched my Jacket perfectly, but the color was a little darker than mine, (because mine was pretty worn) but I got the color close after artificially lightening it, by a bunch of washing the piece to match. There is probably enough here to make or have an M421 Jacket Made.  I had some Khaki Tan cotton Thread on a cone spool from WWII too, but I cannot find it for the life of me.  Find a Zipper, some Original Thread and buttons and you can make a beautiful Jacket. If you recieve this fine piece of Cloth and  you don't agree with my explanation, send it back to me for a refund of your initial purchase price and original shipping and I will split the return shipping cost with you.  I am positive that you will love this.  Thanks for looking. Foreign Destination Winning bidders:  Please Do not try and figure what would be a good shipping cost for your item and then just insert that in the shipping charges at check out at the end of the auction, that just slows the process up.   My international shipping costs are Priority and at cost plus about $1.50 Handling charge, and are NOT based on US shipping rates.  If you have been given a previous quote by me through Ebay messages and are the End high Bidder and are in a foreign local then please insert the appropriate amount(s) that I quoted you at auctions end at check out, if not then I will reference the Ebay message and invoice you with the amount I quoted.   Foreign shipping does include in most cases, Some automatic indemnity ( only covering the contents and not for shipping cost reimbursement) is included on some items based on weight when shipped international priority, other than that:  trackable additional Insurance is optional and usually will start at $3.00 extra.  For all US and Foreign bidders, If you decline  insurance I cannot accept responsibility if item does not arrive or is damaged.  Important Customs info for foreign winning bidders: Sometimes you may have to check with your Customs office if you don't receive this within 10 business days from shipping date in "View order details":   This has happened in France and Italy lately , they have held it and not notified the receiver, and then sent it back to me.   I am not responsible for your country's customs operation and if it is returned to me,  I will not refund the purchase price and will only reship upon payment for shipping again, I appologize for this but this does happen now and then.  CHECK THE " "View order details" on this page after shipment to avoid this.  Click on the "View order details" in this page listing and then "Label created" for shipping status. This will let you know when it gets into your country. NEw Bidders: I encourage you to bid responsibly and start building your feedback.  Remember :when you bid and win it is a contract. Non Paying bidders:  What more can I say about that?  Don’t bid if you might not end up paying, it just makes it a less than desirable Ebay experience. You could end up getting a non paying bidder strike and then before you know it, you go and do it enough times to where Ebay bans you to “Cyber Siberia”. Then you register as a new user and do it all over again, For What?
